Stairway – Courage – Faith

The stairway is high.

I look up and do not see where it ends.

I look down and see all that I have climbed.

I see each step. I identify each moment. I recognize the progress.

The stairway is winding.

Some steps are low and easy to climb. Others are immensely high, seemingly impossible to climb.

In the latter, we are forced to look better, to face obstacles and to discover resources.

We identify the burden that weighs us down, which we need to release in order to take the next step.

We discover the lantern that points us to the safest place in which to step.

We discover the handrail that helps us climb the stairs.

We discover the strength of the muscles that help us move forward.

We discover the courage that drives us to make that move.

Once we have climbed those steps, we see the stairway from a new perspective.

We discovered the scenery thus inaccessible to our eyes.

During that climb, we conquered the step.

We recognized our strength and courage.

We discovered the hand that supported us.

We discovered a lantern. The lantern whose light guides our way. Whose flame warms our Heart. A flame that calls us. It calls us to continue climbing. To follow the voice of the Heart.

I look at the stairway again and see the next step.

I look at it with the eyes of a child ready to discover the world. What would the next scenery look like?

I look with faith and proceed with courage.

I follow the Light. I follow the Heart.
