Often times, people come to me and tell me that I’m always smiling. For them, it seems to be something unusual. For me, it’s something that just happens…
Usually, I’m not even aware that I am smiling. I guess it’s a reflection of how I feel about life, about the people I meet, about the places I go, about the experiences I live.
I believe it has to do with the innate part of me that tends to see more than a glass half full… I usually also see the qualities of the glass and the liquid.
I have a natural tendency to look for the good in things, in people and in circumstances, which commonly results in a more colorful perspective of life.
This doesn’t mean that it is always like that.
It doesn’t mean that I am always smiling.
And it doesn’t mean that I am always experiencing the feeling of happiness.
Like everyone else, I experience a range of different emotions every single day.
It does mean that I tend to pay a lot of attention to my emotions.
And it also means that this awareness brings with it the power of choice.
The choice to acknowledge what is behind that emotion and act in a way to chance those circumstances.
The choice to simply let go of that emotion that no longer serves me.
Or the choice to turn that feeling into another emotion better for me.
When we combine our awareness with our power of choice and will, we harness our potential to transform our lives.
We harness our mind and heart’s power to become the best version of ourselves.
We harness our gifts to fulfill our purpose.
We allow our true essence to emerge.
We allow our happiness to radiate through our smiles!
Dear Barbara, I totally reonate with this post, I could have written it myself. Sometimes I fall into emotional traps, but since practising awareness and meditations to change my feelings and emotions I become a better person, a better mother and a better entrepreneur. I love my life and expect miracles to happen. Hope to see you in Bonn in march, I’m applying as a team member. Big hugs Martina
